In my opinion German Shepherd Dogs do not belong in Dog parks . I am not alone in this belief as most GSD trainers agree with this. I tell that to everyone that adopts from me and I wish everyone would do the same.

Dear Friends of Petraits,

Magnum (Petraits attached) is an active, people-friendly and playful, 95-pound, four-year-old purebred German Shepherd Dog waiting for rescue at DuPage County Animal Care and Control in Wheaton, Illinois.

Magnum lived in a home where he was loved for the last four years. He is great with people, housebroken and non-destructive in the home.

Unfortunately Magnums human mom had surgery recently and is no longer strong enough to handle such a large, strong dog.

Because Magnum can be somewhat dog-reactive at times, he can not be adopted through the shelter.

Magnum is very healthy, neutered, up-to-date on rabies, distemper, bordatella, and heartworm-tested.

Glenn- URGENT Can you give this senior his BEST home ever???

Glenn (A09622619) is a super friendly 5-10 year old Shepherd mix. Glenn came into the shelter as a stray, but was definitely owned before. He is so sweet but can be handshy with new people, poor guy! Unfortunately, his owners have never come to find him. Glenn already knows "sit" and probably knows other commands that he is learned throughout his lifetime. Glenn's tail is always wagging and he always seems super happy! We even believe that he is already housebroken. If you are interested in a laid-back doggie who is looking for a laid back home then please come meet Glenn today!! Glenn is OUTTA TIME & URGENT!!!

We have sooooo many URGENT cases whose lives depend on YOU- Please see if you can help even just one! Any dog that leaves the shelter into foster care saves that dog's life AND the life of the dog waiting for that open cage space.

Please spread the word to everyone you know.

If someone can help it is best for them to just come straight down to the shelter ASAP any day 9am-6pm. If they already have a dog, they need to bring it for a meet, if they rent, they need to bring their lease.

Subject: URGENT: Sheba, 10-year-old German Shepherd at Carroll County Animal Shelter

There is a 10-year-old female German Shepherd at the Carroll County Animal Shelter that the staff is trying to find a good home or a rescue for. Her name is Sheba and according to Billy, one of the animal officers, she's a great dog -she's already spayed, in good health, and housebroken. Her former owner has had her on a special medication (Billy didn't know the name - maybe glucosamine?) since she's been a puppy to protect her hips from the dysplasia that GSDs often get. She runs and walks with no problems. Her only drawback is that she is food aggressive, so if there are other dogs in the family, she would have to be fed in a separated area. This is the reason her owner turned her in. But she's fine with other dogs in non-food situations. She is not in the adoption area because of her age and this food problem.

Please forward this message to anyone you know who might be interested in taking a senior German Shepherd and letting her live out her final years with them. Or if you know a GSD rescue.
She's been at the shelter for about a week and they haven't had any luck yet, so her time is getting short.

Nicholas came in as part of a seizure of animals that were being neglected. He has what appears to be an old injury to his hind leg which doesn't seem to bother him but may need attention. My name is Maggie, I am a 6 year old Black and Tan German Shepherd. I was surrendered by my owner, because they could no longer care for me. I am a very sweet gal, weighing 77 lbs. I am housetrained, and have already been spayed. I am not a big fan of Cats, but I love people. Please come see me at the shelter.

Lovely six year old female GSD currently in Hutchinson, Ks. shelter. She was
surrendered by owner as she was too protective of the children. She is going to
be euthanized this weekend so I am desperate to find a place for her. She shouldn't
be put down for doing what comes naturally to a GSD.
