A very sweet Shepherd was picked up by a good Samaritan when he found him limping down the highway. He has named him Lucky, and he took him to the local vet (Greenville Animal Clinic) 662-332-0592 immediately.
Although he is unable to keep him himself because he spends A LOT of time out of the country, he has offered to pay the vet's charges for the surgery AND the heartworm treatment IF and only IF we can get him placed. Until then, the dog will NOT have the surgery or heartworm treatment. Lucky is very sweet, and the vet asst stated that he has showed NO signs of aggression whatsoever. "He kept licking me and wanting to go with me." Mr. G will pay for hip surgery and alternate heartworm treatment. The hip surgery will not be as effective as hip replacement since it has been out of socket for a long period of time and there is arthritis developing in the other hip also.
He is approximately 4-5 years old and would make a good family pet. His name is Lucky Abraham. PLEASE, PLEASE HELP RESCUE THIS BOY! HE WOULD HAVE TO HAVE THE SURGERY AND HEARTWORM TREATMENT BEFORE HE COULD BE TRANSPORTED, SO SOMEONE PLEASE COMMIT TO THIS BOY!
I received this update tonight, 1-24: Lucky had his hip surgery last week and actually stood up and walked a step or so witin two hours of his surgery! Dr. Nordan says he is doing great. Once recovered enough, the heartworm treatment and neuter will be done.
I have one rescue that expressed interest, but there has been no commitment.
I am begging for donations to Greenville Animal Clinic, Greenville, Mississippi, 662-335-1183 (Bobbie, the tech at the vet's who can vouch for Linda) for his neuter, boarding, rabies and health certificate so he can go to a new home or rescue immediately.
I just had a puppy come in with parvo and even though it died, I owe $900 on that to Allen & Griffin. I use both local vets trying to not owe one large amount to one vet. You may confirm by calling Allen & Griffin, 662-332-0592.
My rescue is limited by donations. Not a penny is received other than donations!!

Lucky Abe, the beautiful GSD picked up by a good samaritan in Greenville, Mississippi has made a wonderful recovery since his hip surgery last Wednesday at GAC. Dr. Nordan stated that Lucky actually stood up and took a step or two less than 2 hrs. after his hip surgery. As soon as the vet feels it appropriate, Lucky will be undergoing his heartworm treatment....the person who found Lucky has generously agreed to pay the vetting for both the hip surgery AND the heartworm treatment. However, we desperately need donations to GAC (ask for Bobbi at 662-335-1183) to cover the boarding, the neutering, Rabies, vaccination & worming).....I am strictly limited to saving the number of dogs by the amount of medical that can be reimbursed/donated....right now, I desperately need donations to Greenville Animal Clinic (GAC) for Lucky Abe, as well as donations to my 2nd vet, Allen & Griffin, for a Datsun that came in with Parvo.....that puppy died, even though the vet bill was well over $600. Because I could not afford to board a new dog (Cooper) that someone asked me to place last week, that dog has now "disappeared." At least I did have him neutered! But I cannot make bills I cannot pay....I need help! Please make donations DIRECTLY to either of the above vets, but please let me know you made one. Please, if you can't donate, please cross-post.
