Therefore, I'd like to ask you all a favor. Nancy and Skip Elsas agreed to take in, on a temporary basis, the GSD of a friend who died. For one month Casey did not leave the side of his 'dad' as he lay dying. By the time his 'dad' died, Casey was an emaciated emotional wreck. The police had been called by the owner's sister and when they broke into the house, they found the owner on the brink of death and Casey next in line. The police hauled Casey to the pound, but before he died, the owner begged his sister to make sure Casey was cared for. The sister contacted Nancy and Skip Elsas and they rushed to the pound and arranged to get Casey out of there but not before he had been further traumatized. So, one year later, Casey has put on 30 pounds and is back to being a well-adjusted, loving companion. The Elsas have had a trainer working with Casey and he is as sweet as can be. I met him last weekend and saw instantly that he was a wonderful boy. Casey is now ready for his forever home and the Elsas would like to have an active hand in finding that home. They've already contacted GSD Rescue but would rather re-home Casey with someone they've personally met and interviewed and can keep in contact with. I would appreciate it if you would each put Casey (and the attached flyer) out to your lists and have interested parties contact Nancy and Skip directly to elsasl@bellsouth.net.
