Hi,
We have a purebred german shepherd who was left at our shelter 2 days ago.  His name is Blaze and he is 12 yrs old.  He was actually adopted from the Baltimore Humane Society 11 years ago, and was returned because the owners are loosing their home.  We are seeking rescue placement for Blaze because of his advanced age.   Blaze is a beautiful dog and appears in good health and has no temperment issues that I am aware of.  I can send you some pictures of him tomorrow if you like.  None of us feel that the shelter environment is a good place for a senior shepherd and want to get him out asap. Please let us know if MAGRS is able to help this dog or has any suggestions of another rescue that might. Thanks!

N.C. GSD is taking him and Kevin, Mid-Atlantic GSD, is going to drive him. The "urgency" is the resent email is that the dog is extremely stressed, not news to those of us who know shepherds, he has paced in his kennel to the extent that he has worn down his toenails and they are bleeding. They have taken steps to stop the bleeding and try to get his feet healed.

They are a small private shelter, I have been informed, that only kills in quality of life issues.

Kevin has said he will drive him to North Carolina sometime this week.

The Humane Society has approved GSD N.C. Rescue for this transfer.
