In my opinion German Shepherd Dogs do not belong in Dog parks . I am not alone in this belief as most GSD trainers agree with this. I tell that to everyone that adopts from me and I wish everyone would do the same.

I am kind of late coming to the party here.  I could not agree more w Connie's view, and the article that she cites.  People so often choose a gsd for its loyalty.  Then some of these same folks are dismayed when their gsd doesn't always *play nice* in a chaotic environment w dogs that are not part of its *pack.*  Dog parks are at best an idea that makes little sense for gsd's.  I say leave them to the labs and goldens.

I have two friends with female GSD's - they do splendidly in the small dog park they go to and love the fun and activity. Both are social and there has never been a negative incident. I took our fellow Conor there when he was young, and he did very well. He doesn't go as an adult however, and our girl is way too bossy to fit into that sort of environment. I think that SOME German Shepherds can do OK in this type of setting, but overall it is not the best venue for them.
